<\/strong><\/p>\n Habitat for Humanity of Hood County<\/strong> accepts applications usually once per year. There will be notices on this website, in the Hood County paper, and various other media to alert potential applicants to the date applications will be accepted.<\/p>\n Application sessions include assistance in filling out the application and information about Habitat for Humanity. Applications must be completed at the scheduled sessions and cannot be taken home. All applicants and co-applicants must be present when the application is completed.<\/p>\n We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. Policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. also meet the following requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n
2.\u00a0<\/strong>You must be willing to Partner with Habitat. This means that the family must put in 300 hours of Sweat Equity working to help build their home along with other Habitat volunteers.
3.\u00a0<\/strong>Partner families must be willing and able to make regular monthly mortgage payments on the home, and make a $1,000 down payment. Mortgage payments normally run about $800 – $900 per month (depending on the size of the house) for a period of 20 years. Habitat for Humanity is a Christian housing ministry. No interest is charged on the mortgage loan. The house cost is based on the materials that are used to build the home.
